Points of Interest: North Hill – Hurlestone Point Circular
Here’s what to look out for along the way:
GREXY COMBE & THE BROCKHOLES
Nearby is the hidden Iron-Age hill fort of Furzebury Brake tucked away on the inland side of this combe. The coastal edge features the historic Brockholes, where stone was once quarried for the nearby medieval settlements of East and West Myne.
EASTERN COMBE
This quiet stretch of the Exmoor coast offers a rich habitat for spotting red deer and rare Dartford warblers. A refreshing stream at the bottom provides an ideal spot for dogs to paddle and cool off.
HURLSTONE POINT & COASTGUARD LOOKOUT
A dramatic headland featuring a ruined lookout tower and spectacular views over the Porlock Weir pebble ridge. This section requires a steep, technical descent that should be avoided during high winds.
