Lynton & Lynmouth
Twin villages linked by a cliff railway, with Lynmouth tucked in a steep gorge and Lynton perched above.
The Valley of Rocks
A surreal landscape of jagged formations, wild goats, and spectacular views across the Bristol Channel.
Woody Bay & Lee Bay
Quiet woodland paths above hidden coves, with glimpses of the sea through twisted oaks and ash.
Heddon’s Mouth
A steep descent to a remote, peaceful valley crossed by a stone bridge—followed by a challenging climb out.
Great Hangman
At 318 metres, the highest point on the Coast Path. A long ascent with rewarding views and a shift in terrain.
Little Hangman & Combe Martin Bay
A gentler clifftop stretch leads to Combe Martin Bay, where the rugged coast begins to soften.
Combe Martin Village
A long, welcoming village with a beach, quirky pubs, and traces of old mining in the surrounding hills.

Alternative: There is no direct route or even connecting route without going via Barnstaple.
The Exmoor Coaster is dog-friendly and goes from Combe Martin to Lynmouth, but only during part of the year. The timetables are seasonal.
