Woolacombe

Woolacombe is a seaside village in North Devon, England, known for its three-mile-long sandy beach. The beach, which holds a Blue Flag rating for cleanliness and quality, faces the Atlantic Ocean and is a major location for surfing. Lying within the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village has a small resident population that swells significantly during the tourist season. Historically, the beach was used by the US Army during WWII for training amphibious landing assaults prior to D-Day.
