Boscastle to Tintagel is a shorter but dramatic stage that packs in everything: ancient sites, steep climbs, remote valleys, and sea-carved myths. With wild views and legendary landmarks, it’s a classic Cornwall walk.

Points of Interest: Boscastle to Tintagel
Here’s what to look out for along the way:
Boscastle Harbour & Willapark
A steep climb leads to the white Coastguard Lookout on Willapark Headland—once a pleasure house, now a vital watchpoint.
Trevalga & Lady’s Window
The path skirts the edge of Trevalga, a tranquil hamlet. Nearby lies Lady’s Window, a natural cliff arch (easy to miss—we did!).
Slate Workings & Cliff Flowers
Former quarry sites now reclaimed by nature—look for thrift, sea campion, and maybe a nesting chough.
Rocky Valley
A dramatic gorge with tumbling river, ancient carvings, and ivy-draped ruins. One of the most atmospheric spots on the path.
Lye Rock & Bossiney
Lye Rock towers offshore, while the trail passes above Benoath and Bossiney Beaches—linked by tides and shipwreck lore.
Second Willapark
Another Iron Age cliff fort site—this time near Bossiney—overlooking a windswept coastal stretch with spectacular views.
Barras Nose
A narrow headland protected by the National Trust for its wild beauty—offering a perfect approach to Tintagel Castle.
Tintagel Castle
Legend and archaeology combine in this ruined coastal fortress—once a medieval seat, possibly an early Dark Age stronghold, and forever linked to King Arthur.
Tintagel Village
A short inland walk brings you into Tintagel for pasties, pubs, and a fitting finish to this myth-laced stretch of coast.
